Will I need to buy and learn to use complicated software?

No, we provide all the software you need, free of cost. In addition, you will be given a free online orientation in advance, to make sure that your child is familiar with the process.

Do I need any hardware?

Yes, you will need one digital Tablet and digital pen (Video cam optional) is available in any computer stores.

What is a shared electronic whiteboard?

A whiteboard is a rectangular area on a computer screen, where multiple users can write or draw on using a digital pen. The digital writing pad a tablet with the size of a mouse pad, and a digital pencil a mouse which looks like a pen, are used to simulate the experience of writing with a pencil. Whiteboards are a principal element of Interactive learning, because they enable visual as well as audio communication. In a whiteboard application, each participant can add text, make drawings, or paste pictures. Other participants can immediately see the results on their workstation. Each participant can make a local printout or save the contents of the whiteboard to a disk file for latter reference.

How do I register for the eWebStudy Program?

Once you have understood our tutoring process and have decided to be a part of our online tutoring program, you have to register with us.

eWebStudy refers to the method of getting tutored outside the classroom via the Internet. In the process of e-learning, students and teachers interact with each other by means of chat, the whiteboard application, email, etc. It is user-friendly.

What is unique about learning at eWebStudy?

eWebStudy provides you a virtual classroom, where you get live tutoring, one-on-one attention at a time and place of your convenience. This program is designed exclusively to meet your academic needs.

For what grade levels, is the tutoring available at eWebStudy?

At present we are offering tutoring for Elementary, Middle and High School students. We also offer special preparation courses for SAT, ACT, SSAT, PSAT and ISEE.

What about Internet security issues?

eWebStudy security infrastructure is highly secure. We assure all the participants privacy and absolute security. All our tutors are rigorously screened and a thorough background check is done before we engage their services. How many hours of tutoring are recommended per month?

At eWebStudy we recommend at least two hours of live, one-on-one tutoring per week. This is exclusive of hours spent on homework and testing. The Academic Counselor may, however, increase the number of tutoring hours depending on the student's ability and proficiency in the subject.

What is a self-paced course?

A self-paced course is one where the pace of the course is determined by your ability to absorb and progress.

Who are your Online-tutors?

Our Online-tutors are highly experienced and qualified teachers who are usually postgraduate degree holders in their subjects of expertise and with an additional degree in education. Before being enrolled as tutors with eWebStudy, they undergo a stringent training program, which makes them proficient in dealing with the students of varied interests and IQ levels. They help bring out the best in students.

What is an instructor-led course?

Just like a traditional course, your online course has an instructor, who develops curriculum, conducts classes, gives the assignments, answers questions and assigns grades.

What is an instructor-facilitated course?

Learn at your own pace, with the guidance of a course guide. Course videos and textbooks are delivered directly to you. Online discussions allow you to share ideas with other enrolled students. Evaluator's feedback on your assignments is produced.

How is the child's progress measured at eWebStudy?

Based on the results of the initial diagnostic test, the instructor prepares a status report on the child. They project the skills of the student in the subject tested. The subsequent test results are compared with this to measure the child's progress. This is graphically represented to enable the child, parent and tutor to gauge the child's improvement.

What is the eWebStudy's Knowledge Management System?

The eWebStudy's Knowledge Management System enables the free flow of information between the parents of the enrolled students and the eWebStudy. Each student would be given a username and password, for logging onto this Knowledge Management System. Relevant information such as schedules for tutoring sessions, student progress reports, parent and tutor feedback forms and general guidelines would be posted on this Knowledge Management System.

What are the system requirements to take the course?

Who helps me if I run into a technical problem?

Every course has its own course manager, who would be your primary contact for questions or problems that involve the mechanics related to the virtual classroom functioning. Our extensive online resources quickly resolve most situations that come up. But, if you need additional help, your course manager is always close at hand, 24/7.

Is an online tutor effective?

We have done extensive trials to develop a system for online tutorials which is efficient and effective. As your child's tutoring session's progress, we will make adjustments to suit their unique personality and specific needs. Their progress will be monitored and you will be updated regularly on their development.

When will I be billed for the package?

We will only bill your credit card when we have confirmed the availability of your schedule, which we will inform you through email, and, when you have accepted the details by clicking on the activation link in your confirmation email.

How soon will I see the improvements?

Every child is unique and takes time to improve at his/her own pace. We constantly work with you to identify your child's strengths and weaknesses and help him/her improve in the process.

If we do not like the current tutor, can we request for a change?

We welcome your comments on our tutors. We are very interested to hear what you think we can do to improve our services for you. You may send an email addressed to our customer service. We promptly act on your request within 4 working days. We do everything possible to ensure that you have a pleasant and fruitful experience with us. If you are not satisfied with the performance of your tutor, you are given the option to request for a change, should you deem it necessary.

Do you offer tutorial services which are not included in the list of subjects?

As of this point, we are limited to teach the subjects which are specified in our list. However, we like to hear from you as to the subjects your child might need help with so that we may work to include them in our future offerings.
